Why this programme exists.
We believe everyone should have access to wellbeing, regardless of their income, background or experience. Community Yoga creates affordable, welcoming spaces where people can slow down, connect with others and explore movement in a way that feels safe and accessible.
What happens.
We deliver regular community yoga classes across Glasgow, with sessions ranging from free to £10 depending on how they are funded. Some programmes are supported through grant funding, others are commissioned by community organisations, and some are delivered voluntarily.
Every class is trauma-informed and adapted to the needs of the group. Our teachers offer chair-based, Hatha, Vinyasa and Restorative Yoga, ensuring sessions are accessible for people with a wide range of physical abilities, experiences and confidence levels.
As Accessible Yoga-trained practitioners, we create inclusive environments where everyone feels welcome to participate.
Who it’s for.
Our community classes welcome people from all walks of life, including students, artists, academics, older adults, people living with disabilities and neurodivergent individuals. No previous experience is needed.
The impact.
By removing financial and practical barriers, we create spaces where people can improve their well-being, build confidence and develop meaningful community connections.
Partners.
Past and present partners include St Paul’s Youth Forum, House of Toad, Glasgow Autonomous Space and Glasgow Community Sauna.
